It’s Saturday, which means I’m answering questions from the ParentNormal Mailbag. If I sound a little sick on the podcast, it’s just because when it’s wintertime and you have kids, somebody in the house is always sick and it’s apparently my turn in the rotation.
ParentNormal Questions Answered in this Episode:
- Most parents on TV seem to be doing a poor job of parenting. Am I becoming a bad parent by watching so many bad parents on TV?
- There are so many shows kids can watch on TV and there are even more shows and videos on YouTube. How am I supposed to know what shows my kids will actually like the most without trying them all?
- The internet is making it easier for anyone to create their own shows. With that being the case, what kind of shows do you think we might start seeing if toddlers start making shows?
About Breaking Down Parenting: A ParentNormal Podcast
Since this episode was originally released, the show has evolved into Breaking Down Parenting: A ParentNormal Podcast. It’s a show that’s for imperfect parents by imperfect parents. Hosted by humorist and imperfect parent of three Chris Cate, every episode breaks down a topic that causes parents to break down, such as putting kids to bed, potty training, the terrible twos, homework, clothing, discipline, cleaning up, cooking for kids, and so on….
By the end of each topic breakdown, parents will hopefully realize they aren’t alone in their struggles and that the craziness all parents go through is actually quite funny when it’s looked at in the right light. After all, the mission of the show is to help parents laugh when they want to cry.
